Psychological/behavioural symptoms
Behavioural symptoms to look out for are;
Social withdrawal, becoming less integrated with friends and choosing to be alone a lot more. Depression, becoming segregated from friends and feeling nobody understands what they are going through can cause severe depression. Irritable behaviour and becoming upset easily. Disrupted sleep. Decrease in attention and concentration. Obsessed with food and thought of food. Compulsive about eating routines and rituals. Eat slowly and cut food into small pieces, also drink a lot of water at meal times. Prepare elaborate and high calorie meals for other people (because they would secretly love to eat it, or to make other people thing they are comfortable with high calorie foods when really they are not). Onset of mood, personality or anxiety disorders. Eager to please and strive for perfection, they usually overwork themselves in several areas. Partly to keep them occupied and thoughts off food, to keep active to lose weight or just to feel a sense of achievement. Aspects of their life appear to be out of control. Compulsive about exercise.
